In contrast to last week when we'd been using flat patches of dark tone to describe the form of faces, this time the subject was how strong pattern can contradict form. We were looking at Dazzle Camouflage on WW1 warships and how strong patterns painted on them broke up their size, shape etc to confuse an enemy submarine. click an image to enlarge...
