This was a development from last week's 'verticals' - mainly in line - from a stack of chairs and easels. The challenge was to start by cutting out only negative space shapes from coloured/ patterned paper (drawings with scissors), make a collage and then, right at the end, add some lines if needed. click an image to enlarge... Working from a pile of easels and upturned chairs, the aim was to emphasise the vertical - by selecting mainly vertical marks and then by cropping the image into a severely vertical format. click an image to enlarge... These were all very fast (5 min) drawings of paper sculptures made very quickly by each member. After 5 mins each sculpture was passed on to the next person to draw and finally a long frieze was created. Picasso's 'Guernica' is added for comparison.
